Super Bowl Winner Betting Guide

With the NFL Draft over and the big trades being concluded, the focus now shifts to the start of the season and a wide-open betting market for the Super Bowl Winner.

Here we preview the movers and shakers in the market ahead of the opening weekend of matches in September…

The Contenders

Buffalo Bills +700

After consecutive hard knock narratives, could this be the year for Super Bowl favorites  Buffalo Bills? The talented Bills made another extended postseason run last year, but their Bowl hopes were dashed by rivals Kansas City in the Divisional Round after coming close to the win. Josh Allen once again proved his status as an elite quarterback, going blow for blow with Patrick Mahomes.

Gabriel Davis broke out as a rising star, and they’ve since signed star receiver Stefon Diggs to a massive extension. They’ve significantly improved their line-up with the signing of All-Pro Von Miller and two new starting guards, looking set for another deep run into the Playoffs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers +800

Just a matter of weeks after announcing his retirement, Tom Brady changed his mind and returned to Tampa Bay for the 2022 season. In an instant, the Bucs went from +2500 outsiders to +800 second favorites for the Superbowl crown. In a surprising late-offseason move, Bruce Arians has moved from head coach to a job on the board and is retiring from coaching.

Popular defensive coordinator Todd Bowles has taken over charge of the team, and it’ll be interesting to see how he manages the big personalities on the roster. After all, Tampa were within minutes of making consecutive Super Bowls appearances after one of the greatest comebacks in the illustrious career of Brady against the Rams.

Considering they were grappling with injuries to key players, it was a very impressive season overall. They’ve since reloaded their side with the likes of Chris Godwin and Leonard Fournette, and if they can also sign up tight end Rob Gronkowski, they’ll be locked and loaded for another strong season. Kansas City Chiefs +1,000

This is going to be a very interesting season for Kansas City, as The Chiefs are going to be looking a bit different in the passing department after the shock departure of Tyreek Hill. The other principal receiver, Travis Kelce, remains in place and will be as important as ever. Despite all this change in the offseason, they came into 2022 with high expectations.

They’re the only team to win 50 regular season games and make four AFC Championship Game appearances over the past four years, and this consistency is very attractive to potential backers. Mahomes has some new offensive weapons to play with in the form of JuJu Smith-Schuster and Marquez Valdes-Scantling at wide receiver and Ronald Jones at running back – so we can’t wait to see how they get on.

Green Bay Packers +1,100

The good news for Green Bay fans is that Aaron Rodgers is back for another year after the annual speculation about his future. The bad news, however, is that star receiver Davante Adams is not. The Packers will be hoping that talented rookie Christian Watson will be able to step into his shoes and be the target that Rogers needs.

Other star quarterbacks have much more potent weapons around them, so there’ll be big question marks surrounding the strength of their offense. Despite being regulars in the Playoffs and winning 13 games in three consecutive seasons, they’ve struggled to make the next step into true Superbowl contenders.

They’ve boosted their ranks with Georgia pair Quay Walker and Devonte Wyatt, members of one of the most celebrated defenses in college football history. Bet Rivers is your betting base for the NFL.

The Outsiders

LA Rams +1,200

The defending champs from LA will have to rely on mostly the same successful line-up from last year. They’ve opted to give up a ton of draft picks and are strapped for cash in the free agency market after assembling a star studded line-up. Without much roster turnover, we know what to expect from the Super Bowl champions in 2022, and they should be able to hit the ground running.

Matthew Stafford has been given a much deserved contract extension and Super Bowl MVP Cooper Kupp is looking for another monster season. One of the big departures has been Von Miller but the incoming Bobby Wagner has been backed to fill this void. All in all, it’ll be fascinating to see if the lack of draft picks becomes an issue for LA or if they are setting the new model for other teams to follow.

LA Chargers +1,600

One team that seems to be a recent riser in the betting market is the Chargers. The Bolts have done nothing but improve on their weak points from last year and are expected to be Super Bowl challengers. In Justin Herbert they have an improving quarterback who is shaping up to be one of the best in the NFL.

In a pair of massive moves for the franchise, they have traded to acquire stud pass rusher Khalil Mack and All-Pro corner J.C. Jackson to take them to the next level. They’ve also added to their offensive line with guard Zion Johnson drafted in the first round. The AFC West looks to be the most competitive this year with Davante Adams and Chandler Jones joining the Raiders, the Denver Broncos picking up Russell Wilson, and the Chiefs being the Chiefs – but the Chargers are poised for greatness.
