Re-drafting the 2012 NBA Draft

Re-Draft Pick #9: Harrison Barnes – Detroit Pistons

A nice bit of value here for Detroit as Harrison Barnes falls, from 7th overall in real life, to pick number 9 in the re-draft. The 2016 Finals meltdown aside, Barnes is a solid player and the embodies the 3 and D prototype that has become so popular in the modern NBA.

Barnes has averaged over 10PPG every season since 2013 with a career-high of 19.2PPG for the Dallas Mavericks during the 2016-17 season. Barnes is also capable of playing positions 2 through 4 which makes him extremely versatile.

In terms of fit, in real life, the Pistons selected Drummond here, which, while not a bad selection, did not bring the desired results. While Barnes is not a world-beater by any means, his versatility and impressive scoring would benefit any team.
